How markets work
Two kinds of markets: hourly Up/Down rounds and multi-outcome range markets.
Hourly Up/Down rounds
Each round opens with a price to beat: the token's price when the round starts. When the hour ends, the round compares the closing price with that number.
- Closing price above the price to beat: Up wins.
- Closing price below it: Down wins.
- The round card shows a live countdown, the current price and the gap to the price to beat.
Weekly range markets
Range markets have more than two outcomes, for example Under $2500, $2500 – $2600 and so on for ETH's price at the end of the week. You buy the range you expect. Exactly one range wins when the market closes.
The chance meter
The gauge on each market shows where the crowd leans. A reading of 70% chance on Up means Up shares currently cost about 70¢ and Down shares about 30¢. It reflects positions taken, not a forecast from ODDS.
